This half term, Year 6 will be reading:

In English, we will be reading Kensuke’s Kingdom. Michael sets off to sail around the world with his family and their dog. Is that a good idea? What could possibly go wrong?

Spelling rules for next half term see separate sheet.

Maths

We use the Maths No Problem Primary Maths Series from Year1 to Year 6.

It is a child-centred approach, which is fun to teach, using physical resources, problem solving and group work. The series is fully aligned with the national curriculum.

This half term, we are moving on to look at fractions, decimals and percentages. A good recall of number facts, including times tables, is vital so they need to be practised regularly.

Topic

Our topic is “The Americas”. We will mainly be focusing on South America: location, countries, main industries and deforestation of the rainforests. This will also link to our science week when we will be looking at evolution and adaptations.
