Aventurine is the fiercest dragon in the mountains. But what happens when such a fierce dragon is tricked into drinking enchanted chocolate and becomes … a HUMAN?.

Our English work will based around the adventures of the main character, Aventurine,  and the difficulties she will need to overcome.


Spelling is initially taught as discrete lessons, where pupils learn rules and carry out activities that allow them to investigate these rules. Pupils are not given spelling lists to learn and will be tested each week based on the application of rules taught.

Our maths lessons follow the Maths No Problem scheme. This is an approach taught across the whole school. This half term, pupils will be learning about fractions and time.

Topic – Chocolate

This half term our topic work will be based on Chocolate. Pupils will look at the origins of chocolate, Fairtrade as well as companies such as Cadbury and Rowntree.


Science is taught as through Science Weeks. This half term, Year 4 will be learning more about All Living Things. Pupils will identify that living things can be grouped in a variety of ways and use classification keys to help them.
